Today, while replying to the various forums on Technet Forums, I encountered about a new error in Outlook which is known as "OLE registration error".

After that, I did R&D on OLE registration error and found some interesting facts. As This error is not much popular in comparison of other numerical errors in MS-Outlook so I am not able to gather much information, but still I found the solution.

Error Message: "An OLE registration error occurred. The program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the program."

How to Fix an OLE Registration Error Occurred?

To fix this an OLE registration error in MS-Outlook, type the "Regsvr32 ole32.dll" in the Run and click on "Ok".

Note: To open the Run box, you can also take the help of a window's shortcut: "Windows+R".

There is just a probability that the above mentioned method will resolve the OLE registration error in Outlook. But if you are still stuck in the same situation, then emptying the files located within an Outlook folder is another solution.

The below given are the steps to empty the files located within an Outlook folder:

  • Windows XP users: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
  • Windows 7 users: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
  • On reaching the defined path, you have to delete all the files of Microsoft Outlook folders.
  • (Start MS-Outlook) from the starting, Outlook will automatically re-create those deleted files and start performing its functions properly.
